TORFINNUR JÁKUPSSON is a Faroese screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer, based in the Faroe Islands as well as Copenhagen. He is represented by Danske Dramatikere and Swedish boutique agency Albatros. Torfinnur is the creator and head writer of the first ever Faroese TV drama series, crime drama TROM, shown on Viaplay, ZDF/Arte and BBC among others.

Torfinnur has a diverse background in journalism, film, television, and music. He is also CEO of newly founded GRÓ Studios, the first film and television studio of its kind in the Faroes, focused on developing local talent and local stories with global appeal and potential.

After working in "the City" in London, Torfinnur decided to change industry from the world of news and finance to film. Over the past decade, he has refined his skills in a wide range of roles - spanning feature films, shorts, documentaries, series and music videos. His recent projects, including his work as an editor and sound designer, have won numerous international awards and nominations.
